Gift Ideas for Cancer Patients & THANK YOU!

Gift Ideas for Cancer Patients & THANK YOU!

Despite Christmas being a bit different this year, I was certainly spoiled like always!

Thank you to everyone who sent a card, wished me well, or sent me a gift (you know you didn’t have to!) I appreciate it very much.

Many of the gifts I received were so well suited to my life as it currently stands— I could tell everyone put so much thought into what they were giving to me and why.

I figured since this is a Cancer journey blog, I would showcase a few of the things I got that I feel would be well suited for many cancer patients! Just in case you were looking for a few ideas yourself. (Thanks, friends and family— you’re the best gift givers!)

  • Hot water bottles/heating pads (sometimes my body just aches and heat is the only thing that helps)

  • Notepads (to write out your feelings, emotions, journal your day, write to-do lists so you don’t forget— hello chemo brain fog, etc.)

  • Activity books/things to do with your hands (Cross-stitch, colouring books, Sudoku… I use these while sitting through chemo!)

  • Tea (make sure their chemo treatment allows green tea— some supplements are a big no-no for certain protocols! Best to ask) and Alcohol (okay, not everyone drinks so you might want to ask them first, but a small glass of wine once I’m feeling better again is such a ‘cheers!’ moment every time)

  • Comfy clothes/hats/wraps (I work from home so comfies are what I live in regardless, but now more than ever I just want to live in the softest of clothing)

  • Meaningful gifts (like this piece of jewelry Matt spoiled me with— the infinity message it came with made me cry. I’ll let you imagine what it might have said hehe)

  • Books (A mix of diet/nutrition books, fiction, horror/mystery, educational, and biographies are my preference!)

  • Blankets/pillows (my bed looks like a human-sized comfy birds nest right now)

  • Humorous gifts (Who doesn’t like to laugh?)

  • Tech gadgets (Again, something to learn or spend your time on…)

Some gift ideas… thank you, friends and family! Love you.

What’s the most thoughtful gift you’ve ever received? Let me know by leaving me a comment below or messaging me! I’d love to chat and I’m sure everyone would love to get as many neat ideas as possible.

Thanks for reading! I hope you all had an amazing Christmas/holiday time. XO

(PS: I didn’t show everything I got for Christmas so if I didn’t picture what you sent me, know I love you and can’t thank you enough!)
